ACCOMMODATION
There are comfortable hotel and lodges at all tourist destinations. Western Bhutan has better hotels and 5 star luxury hotels, such as Taj Tashi, Uma & Aman Kora Resorts while in central and eastern, accommodations are simple and offer minimum facilities.
Bhutan Everest Tours and Treks (BETT) carefully selects the list of accommodation units with the best of location, service and ambience.
CUISINE
Tourist hotels in Bhutan have a choice of Bhutanese, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Continental dish.
COMMUNICATION FACILITIES
Reliable telephone and fax services are available in all the towns in Bhutan. International connections are excellent. Internet and e-mail facilities are also available in most of the places.
CURRENCY TRANSACTION
“Bhutan unit of currency is Ngultrum (Nu.), which is at parity with Indian Rupee.”
Tourists are advised to carry their money in the form of Traveler cheque and cash for convenience. We recommend our clients to carry some amount of money in cash in USD for personal expenses; tips and incidental expenses as cash is accepted throughout the country.
We do not entertain Visa or any credit cards to make tour payment. If you are traveling alone or with a friend (we call FITs), the tour payment is accepted directly either in cash or TC. But for group of 3 people and above, you need to wire transfer the money well in advance to enable us to process your visa.
The payment must be settled 6 weeks in advance prior to date of arrival in Bhutan and VISA is cleared by the concern authority subject to advance payment only.
The payment can be made to the Bank Account maintained by Bhutan National Bank in New York, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Singapore and London.
